The second IP4GROWTH training module on Intellectual Property protection related to agricultural products will take place in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, between 24th and 26th February 2015.
The training module will cover specific aspects of Geographical Indicators, Traditional Knowledge and related issues of patent/plant variety protection. In addition, attendants will be familiarised with basic issues concerning the interface between IP and competition and will be introduced to the foundations of international jurisdiction and applicable law aspects in relation to, predominantly, IP licenses. Talks will be given by professors from IP4GROWTH partner Queen Mary University London, as well as by colleagues from the African Intellectual Property Organisation (OAPI) and the Ivory Coast Office for Intellectual Property (OIPI).
The IP4GROWTH partner participants will later replicate this training in each of their own universities, to which event members of other institutions in their country will be invited.
